Watt Pottery Mold & Pattern Reference Guide

Identification • Forms • Pattern-Specific Scarcity

This guide organizes Watt Pottery by pattern and mold number. Mold numbers identify the form or shape, but not every pattern was produced in every mold. Scarcity ratings apply to the specific pattern listed and are based on the price ranges in the reference spreadsheet, so the same mold can rate differently from one pattern to another.

Jump to Pattern

Select a pattern below to jump directly to that mold reference section.

Apple Autumn Foliage Butterfly Cherry Cross Hatch / Pansy Daisy Dogwood Double Apple Dutch Tulip Eagle Kitchen Queen Morning Glory Brown Morning Glory Cream Morning Glory Yellow Open Apple Reduced Apple Rooster Special Starflower Starflower 4 Petal Starflower 5 Petal Teardrop Tulip
Important: The mold list under each pattern reflects that pattern only. A mold that is common in one pattern may be rare or undocumented in another.

Apple

Apple is the broadest and most familiar Watt Pottery pattern in this reference, with molds ranging from everyday bowls and bakers to canisters, pitchers, covered pieces, mugs, shakers, bottles, warmers, and specialty forms. Because the Apple list is so wide, scarcity varies heavily by mold: common bowl forms are very different from pieces like stacking jars, oil and vinegar bottles, hourglass forms, and unusual covered or handled pieces.

Autumn Foliage

Autumn Foliage appears across a substantial but more selective range of Watt forms, including bowls, pitchers, casseroles, covered bowls, canisters, mugs, and later specialty pieces. The mold list is not as broad as Apple, so the scarcity ratings are especially useful for separating more familiar utility forms from harder-to-locate storage, service, and specialty shapes.

Butterfly

Butterfly has a much narrower mold list than Apple or Starflower, which is part of what makes the pattern interesting to advanced collectors. In this reference it appears mainly on bowls, pitchers, covered bakers, an ice bucket, creamer, salad bowl, and bean pot, so the scarcity ratings should be read as pattern-specific rather than mold-wide.

Cherry

Cherry is represented by a focused group of kitchen and serving forms, including bakers, bowls, pitchers, casseroles, cookie jars, platters, shakers, covered bowls, and a few scarcer accessory pieces. The pattern does not appear here across every major Watt mold, so the table is intended to show where Cherry is documented in this reference and how those forms compare within the pattern.

Cross Hatch / Pansy

Cross Hatch and Pansy forms in this reference are concentrated in older-style utility shapes, bowls, pitchers, casserole forms, plates, cups, saucers, and serving pieces. The list has a different character than the later fruit and floral patterns, so scarcity should be judged within this documented group rather than compared directly to Apple or Starflower.

Daisy

Daisy appears here on a smaller group of older-style bowls, bakers, casserole forms, plates, cups, saucers, cookie jars, and serving pieces. Dogwood

Dogwood is a compact pattern section in this reference, with documented forms including casserole pieces, cookie jar, berry bowl, spaghetti bowls, plates, platter, cup, saucer, and salad plate. Double Apple

Double Apple is not simply a duplicate of the regular Apple list. The documented forms here are much more limited, with ribbed bowls, pitchers, creamer, deep bowl, salad bowl, bean pot, covered baker, sugar bowl, and cookie jar. Dutch Tulip

Dutch Tulip has a strong collector following and appears here across a useful range of bowls, pitchers, casseroles, deep bowls, canisters, bean forms, coffee and tea canisters, shakers, mugs, and covered pieces. It does not carry the full Apple mold range, making the pattern-specific scarcity ratings important when comparing common-looking forms to harder Dutch Tulip examples.

Eagle

Eagle is documented here on a narrower set of ribbed bowls, lip-and-shoulder bowls, pitcher, ice bucket, tapered canister, salad forms, bean pot, and covered bowl. Because the pattern is not represented across many common Watt molds, the section is best read as a specialty pattern reference rather than a full kitchenware line.

Kitchen Queen

Kitchen Queen appears across many practical kitchen forms, especially bowls, ribbed bowls, pitchers, canisters, covered pieces, mugs, and later utility shapes. Morning Glory Cream

Morning Glory Cream is documented here on mixing bowls and a small group of service forms including covered casserole, cookie jar, large pitcher, creamer, and sugar bowl. It includes selected ribbed and lip bowls, pitchers, the #39 bowl, creamer, deep bowls, salad forms, covered baker, chip and dip forms, and a few major rarities; scarcity here is specific to Open Apple and should not be compared to common Apple production.

Rooster has a broad and highly collectible mold list, including lip bowls, ribbed bowls, pitchers, casseroles, platters, serving bowls, canisters, bean forms, mugs, sugars, shakers, and specialty pieces. Even though some Rooster forms are familiar, the pattern has several high-interest and difficult entries, so the scarcity column is useful for separating standard collector forms from standout rarities.

Special Starflower

Special Starflower is considered one of the most visually distinctive and advanced branches of the Starflower family. Unlike standard production Starflower pieces, these examples appear in unusual glaze combinations, decorator variations, and extremely limited mold production.

Most documented examples center around the #39 Spaghetti Bowl, though additional forms have surfaced in highly unusual color combinations and decorator styles that collectors actively pursue today.

Starflower 4 Petal

Starflower 4 Petal appears across a strong range of bowl, pitcher, casserole, canister, bean, sugar, mug, and covered forms. Starflower 5 Petal has one of the broader mold lists in this guide, including bakers, bowls, pitchers, casseroles, cookie jar, platters, creamers, sugars, canisters, mugs, covered pieces, and shakers. Because the documented range is large, the scarcity ratings help distinguish common Starflower forms from high-interest pieces such as unusual service, covered, and specialty molds.

Teardrop

Teardrop appears across a strong but selective group of Watt forms, including grease jar, bakers, ribbed and lip bowls, pitchers, casserole, spaghetti bowls, salad and fruit bowls, canisters, bean forms, sugars, mugs, shakers, and covered pieces. The pattern has enough breadth to collect by mold number, but not every common Watt form is represented here, making pattern-specific scarcity important.

Tulip

Tulip is documented here on a smaller group of ribbed bowls, pitchers, spaghetti bowl, creamer, deep bowls, salad forms, bean pot, bakers, cookie jar, covered bowls, and later bowl forms. The mold list is more limited than Apple or Starflower, so the scarcity ratings are especially helpful for collectors comparing Tulip examples within the pattern.
